Discovery, STEAM & Adventure Camps Director
Kathy began working at the Rye YMCA in 2003 at the membership service desk and then transitioned to working in the Afterschool, Teen, and Gymnastics department. In 2005, she became a full time employee overseeing the Gymnastics Program and Camp. In June of 2016, she transitioned into her current role of Camp, Family and Teen Director. Kathy graduated college with a Bachelor’s degree specializing in Psychology and is in the process of completing a duel masters in Childhood and Special Education grades 1-6. She enjoys singing, dancing, and spending time with my daughter, husband, and dog Oreo!

Sports and Recreation Director
Melissa has been working for the Rye YMCA since She started out as a part time instructor, and moved to Gymnastics Director/Gymnastics Camp Director a few years later and is now the Rye Y’s Sports and Recreation Director overseeing all gymnastics, youth sports, and adult sports programs, as well camp. She teaches our preschool, progressive, and team programs. Melissa was involved with competitive gymnastics for many years and ended as a level 9 gymnast. She grew up in Eastchester and graduated from Westchester Community College. Melissa is certified by USA Gymnastics University in safety certification. She enjoys reading, riding her motorcycle, and spending time with her husband, son, dog, and cat.
Sports Camp Director
Tatum has been working at the Rye Y since 2006. She started as an instructor for our pre-school gymnastics and progressive classes then progressed to pre team, talent, and assistant coach of the competitive team. Her new position is Assistant Director of sports and recreation and Sports Camp director. Tatum graduated from IONA College with an Elemenatry Education degree. Her hobbies include raising my 16 year old daughter and my puppy, as well as obstacle course racing and mma fighting.
Gymnastics Coordinator/Head Coach
This Kayla’s first year as the Gymnastics Coordinator/ Head Coach here at the Rye YMCA. She used be a competitive gymnast for the Rye Y and started volunteering at the age of 14. She began working as a Gymnastics Instructor in 2010. Kayla teaches our progressive, pre-team and team programs and is certified by USAG Gymnastics University in safety certification. She grew up in Mamaroneck in the Rye Neck district. Kayla has an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education and is currently attending Manhattanville, majoring in English and minoring in Communications Studies.
Teen Fitness Camp Director
Diana grew up in Rye and was a Rye Garnet Varsity Cheerleader throughout High School. She graduated from Westchester Business Institute with a Marketing Management Degree in Business. Diana started out at the Y in 2000, teaching a beginner step class, and has now developed into her current role as a Senior Director of Member Wellness. She loves the relationships at the Y and looks forward to coming to work every day. She has two girls, Lauren who attends SUNY Cortland as a Freshman, and Lindsey, a Junior at Rye High School.
Assistant Director of Membership Services/Camp Office Manager
Ashley joined the Y in 2014 after living in Japan where she taught English conversation for four and a half years. Ashley is originally from a small town in the Finger Lakes region of New York where there are more cows than people and graduated from SUNY Albany with a degree in Japanese Studies. Assistant Director of Aquatics/Safety
Liz was already a part of the Rye Y community when she joined as a lifeguard and swim instructor in 2003. She was always a water bug growing up and spent most of her time in the pool. She learned how to swim at the Rye Y when she was younger and continued to swim competitively throughout high school and college. She graduated from Sacred Heart University in 2009 with a BS in Psychology and completed her Masters in 2016 with a MS in Organizational Leadership. She always has Safety in mind especially around the water. Being around water and involving herself in all programs surrounded around water, is her passion. She loves seeing children progress through our progressive swim school and is passionate about giving every child the ability to gain confidence around the water and learn an important life saving skill.
