Welcome to our 2011 class of CIT’s! We are very excited to have you with us this summer and we hope you are too.
PROGRAM GOALS
Our overarching goal is to make sure that every CIT is engrossed in an experience that focuses on both their own development as a leader as well as different techniques for working with children. We have a long history of developing strong community leaders and it’s our intention to continue for your young adults this summer.
REQUIRED CIT TRAINING
Wednesday, June 15th at 4-8pm at the Rye YMCA

FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES
Though the program focuses on training at Rye Y Camp it is designed to do much more than onsite training. We hope your CIT will gain life-long leadership and cooperative skills through our program and workshops.
If your CIT is interested in a job with Rye Y Camp for the following year and will be 16 years old by the start of camp (required by our accreditation) they are welcome to apply in January/February. Rye Y staff positions are highly competitive. We receive well over 150 applications for only 50+ positions. Yes, being a CIT that performed well the previous year helps, but it does not by any means guarantee a staff position. For example, Discovery Camp typically only hires 5-6 past year CIT’s each summer out of the nearly 45 CIT’s we host.
